Kaleidoscope of Cropping
While on the way home from Europe some years ago, we flew over Bathurst NSW. The scene below the plane was very reminiscent of the patchwork quilt of farms in much of Europe. Bathurst is renowned for vegetables such as beans, broccoli, pumpkins, rockmelons and many more, interspersed with cover crops such as crimson clover, field pea and vetch. This is my interpretation from memory a couple of weeks after our return, remembering the colourful patterns in regulated blocks.
