Forest Garden
This is a depiction of an event which happened when we first moved to our property at Waukivory. A fire had ripped along the ridgelines after a long dry spell. Most of the understory had been burnt out, and after a good drop of rain, wildflowers bloomed profusely at ground level. The central tree is a Strangler Fig which has grown around another tree and killed it. The fire ran up the dead wood in the middle, leaving a hollow that will be a great place for possums and goannas to sleep and be safe. Colourful vines adorn the top of the tree, with flowers dripping down everywhere.
